Utah Valley Golf Guide
The region in North Central Utah that encompasses Provo and Orem and their various suburbs is called Utah Valley. In the center of this area is Utah Lake, a natural body of fresh water that is fed by all the rivers in the valley. As a result, the Utah Valley is a haven for anglers.
If, however, sportspeople prefer their surroundings to be green rather than blue, they can tee it up on one semi-private course and 10 public courses that are quickly gaining national reputations for quality. The Golf Club at Thanksgiving Point, in fact, has gathered enough accolades and awards to fill a cart bag. This gorgeous behemoth stretches more than 7,700 yards from the tips, so golfers should be sure to play the suitable tee boxes for their games. This Johnny Miller Signature course has been named the number one public golf course in Utah by Golf Digest. In other words, in order to find a better course, golfers either have to purchase a membership somewhere or leave the state.
But since they're already in the Utah Valley, golfers who enjoy links-style golf should play Matthew E. Dye's Links at Sleepy Ridge, a 7,000-yard series of undulations that dance through the wetlands of Utah Lake. Spanish Oaks Golf Course is a full-service course that was voted the second best place to play and practice by Utah Valley residents. It also happens to have been designed by golf legend Billy Casper, one of the greatest ball strikers of all time.

Getting To Utah Valley
From Salt Lake City: Utah Valley is approximately 45 minutes (40-50 miles) south of Salt Lake City via Interstate 15.
From Heber City: Roughly 32 miles north via US-189 through Provo Canyon, with a drive time around 40 minutes.
From Ogden: About 50 miles south on I-15, approximately a 50-minute drive.
From Park City (via Provo Canyon): Approximately 45 minutes to reach Utah Valley.
